Min Hua Lin, a thirteen year old girl living in the boonies Yinchangxiang, China, is the younger of two sisters and fellow heiress to a little-known family style of martial arts.
Rei Haiyaou, the adopted daughter of Kenji Haiyaou, is a quick-learning martial artist who is currently traveling through China to pick up as many martial styles as possible.
Xiu Mei is the older of the two Lin-style heiresses. She doesn't show much patience toward her younger sister. Everyone in town thinks she's the bee's knees.
