Eh, Rei “gets” the situation a little better than Min Hua *thinks* she does. Rei at least realizes that Xiu Mei’s attitude is kinda fucked up but is coming from a POV that Xiu Mei actually believes.

I came from a similar small town that held absolutely nothing for me when I grew up and became an engineer, so the only time I went back there was for familial duties. Since my father died, I have no reason to ever go back at this point. Not happy, not sad, just the truth. There’s nothing there.
