I understand why he’s upset. He attacked her, with the intent to kill her, and it didn’t work. So of course he’s going to be upset that something that gave him tremendous power not only did not work, but ensures he can’t use it again without consequence. A rich, spoiled boy used to having his way finding that he can’t have it anymore.
The next time they meet, if they do, will go even worse for him.
