Keeping in Touch

Min tells Rei about how everyone else is doing around her. Rei tells Min about all the things she's done and seen. T'ien scored quality internets despite living in China.

  1. Ok. Panel 2. Cherry or Strawberry?

      Strawberry <3

  2. I may have asked this before, sorry. Has Rei learned to write in Chinese?

    1. Ryan Gindlesperger

She has. I’m not as well-learned as she is, so it’s tough to convey where all her language skills lie.
She learns absurdly fast. That’ll always be her real superpower.

      1. So you know Chinese as well? I’ve tried about 4 times, and even with the added encouragement of family members who speak it, it hasn’t gone well.

Not even a little! I spend a good bit of time looking up things for incidental visuals that these girls drag into my comic. Seriously. The only one of the main four girls I personally would have any crossover in interests would probably be Ash’s video gaming. I know a teensie bit of Japanese. Been there twice. It was great, but I’m in no way even a joke away from fluent.

You do a pretty good job. I’ve recognized some of the scripts you’ve had on the walls in the Lin houses as being similar to ones I’ve seen elsewhere. Actually, your Chinese writing is better than some of the stylized ones I’ve seen, I’ve had to have my wife translate them, and even *she* will kind of puzzle at some of them.

Mimicking script is still easier than hands. <3

Dude, there is no way in hell I could draw anything like you do. My drawing skills are right up there with XKCD.

  3. I gotta say, T’ien looks really good in a beard. It’s a great look on him.

Hoping he’s made something out of his access to the internets and he isn’t living off his family’s hoard. Dude looks like a computer wizard.

He’s doin’ pretty well for himself.
      He’s a pretty happy cabbage.
